Meditating is happiness suggestion #1, but telling a busy person to meditate is like telling someone on a budget to cut expenses even more. On September 6,  House of Shine, led by founder Dr. Claudia Beeny, helped participants at its Tricks for Treating Yourself to Quiet workshop explore practical and innovative ways to weave a little zen into their lives.

Guest panelists Cheryl Houston, Tida Chambers and Westlake Mayor Laura Wheat, not only responded to this prompt: ‘If saying “no” allows us to say “yes” to more important things then what have you learned to say “no” to, in order to say “yes” to more time for solitude and quiet?’ but shared additional insight about the ways each find time daily to quiet themselves.
