Shine Snowballs: Conceptual Learning

At House of Shine’s January Learn to Shine workshop, the focus was on snowflakes and the lessons that can be learned about friendships in and among educators from the one-of-a-kind nature of snowballs. All educators in attendance received a Shine Snowball. The snowballs were made of white and blue crepe paper and rolled into a circular shape with small treats included inside for educators to discover as they unraveled the snowball.

One Kindergarten teacher in attendance, Amanda Cawthra, then offered a suggestion for how these snowballs could be adapted for the purposes of conceptual learning in the classroom.  View the video below to hear Amanda’s creative twist on using this same activity to engage students of all ages!
