High Five: Celebrating Five Years of Growing Together
This is the fifth-year women from north Texas have come together for monthly workshops to think and talk about being the best version of themselves. From family time to friendships to setting and achieving personal goals, House of Shine develops content that both challenges and supports women to live lives that shine brighter. Our team couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate this growing community then to take our lead from the number Five. Watch this season as we bring alive the number five by hosting nine sessions, each inspired by something new the number five can teach us.

December 12 – Look, Smell, Feel, Touch, Hear Your Way to a Sense-ational Holiday Season
We couldn’t imagine celebrating the number Five without carving out time to pay tribute to our five senses. And, what better way to participate than sharing old memories and generating new ideas about how to use our senses of smell, sound, sight, taste, and touch to create an all-sensory holiday season? To help us, we’ve curated five of the most qualified women in town to spend ten minutes each teaching us how to activate a different sense. And since it’s the holidays, it only makes sense that there are some treats in store. Register today!
January 9 – Five Essential Elements for “Galluping” Into a New Year
The new year is a good time to reflect on our overall wellbeing, with one eye towards modifications we would like to make moving forward. Based on extensive research conducted by Gallup and shared in the book, Well Being, we will explore our own wellbeing through their lens of Five Essential Elements. Expect to leave the workshop with a sense of which Elements need your attention most, along with practical suggestions for how to create your perfect vision for 2020. Register today!
February 6 – Leap Into the Year With Five Giant Steps
The year 2020 is a Leap Year, meaning in February we’re given an extra day. This month we want to teach you something you can do with some of those extra minutes; something that can help you take a quantum leap forward. You will have space to think about how conventional wisdom might be holding you back and to explore Five Giant Steps you can take to advance some aspect of your life. This session will be filled with storytelling by five women, each of whom has attempted the Five Giant Steps toward a quantum leap in her own life.
March 5 – Five Alive: A Thoughtful Exploration of What Dying Can Teach Us About Living
Light and airy, this session will feel like a thoughtful meditation on the meaning of life and how maintaining an ever-present consciousness of death can bring us closer to our truest selves. We’ll draw on material from, The Five People You Meet in Heaven and The Five Invitations to explore how we can wake up fully to our lives. Whether you are coping with loss, navigating transition, experiencing regret, or just hoping to forge a more meaningful life, this session will strike a chord with you.
April 9 – Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend: What the 5C’s Can Teach Us About Friendship
What’s a Rise and Shine season without some sort of tribute to female friendships and what better source of inspiration for this session than a ‘girl’s best friend’ – diamonds! We’ve invited gal pals to join us for a chat about what the 5 C’s – Carats, cut, color, clarity, and confidence – can teach us about sparkling, shining, and being brilliant.
May 7 – Cinco de Mayo: It’s a Fiesta
Everyone loves a piñata. They’re bright, they’re colorful, it usually means a party is in the air, and surprises await us on the inside. What a perfect description for our last workshop of the season. In a celebration scheduled just two days after Cinco de Mayo, you can guess House of Shine has planned for our time together to be bright, to be colorful, to be a party, and to be filled with surprises on the inside.
