SELF: THE SUBJECT STUDENTS WILL LOVE STUDYING MOST
OUR CURRICULUM IGNITES INTEREST, HERE’S HOW.
When students know what makes them shine, they are more willing to contribute. And when students contribute, they develop knowledge, skills, and competencies. And when students develop knowledge, skills, and competencies, they become more confident (and more satisfied) with their classroom experience. And the more confident and satisfied students become with their experience, the more energy they are willing to exert physically and psychologically. And the more energy students exert, the more they will learn. Then the cycle continues.
WHAT’S YOUR SHINE?
GRADES K – 12
These grade-level appropriate modules provide a slow drip of shine curriculum for students beginning in Kindergarten and continuing through the twelfth grade. Each module focuses on one or more component of the student’s SHINE (Strengths, Hobbies, Interests & Irritants, Needs, and Experiences) and provides hands-on engagement with developing self-awareness. In the same way a student develops content knowledge slowly and over time, the K-12 modules allow a student to develop self-knowledge slowly and over time. We believe a student’s confidence will increase as they learn ways to shine in their corner of the world. To learn more about these modules, contact us today.
MIDDLE SCHOOL – LEVEL 1 & 2
This 32-session experiential curriculum exposes students to the basic tenants of our Shine philosophy; a belief that engaged students and citizens must BE, DO, and SHARE. Using self-reflection and action, students participating in this course will discover their SHINE (their unique combination of strengths, hobbies, interests and irritants, needs, and experiences). Confidence will increase as they discover ways of employing their uniqueness in order to make a difference in their corner of the world. To learn more about these modules, contact us today.
