Cassata High School: Quest for Quiet

On Friday, November 18, the House of Shine facilitated a workshop for teen girls at Cassata High School in Fort Worth, TX as a part of a monthly workshop series on happiness. The November workshop centered around the topic of quiet and ways for teen girls to use quiet time to discover their shine, and ultimately their happiness.  The House of Shine brought Westlake Academy tenth grader, Amareesa Robinson, along to share her use of quiet time to journal. The intersection of Amareesa’s talents, interests, and the need she sees in the life of teen girls created the perfect point of intersection to share her shine with her peers. Amareesa is proof that there is a contribution waiting to be made inside of all of us, no matter our age.

Thanks to the generous donations of many loyal followers, the House of Shine was able to provide journals and marker sets to each girl in attendance.  Each journal was also inscribed inside with a message of encouragement for the girls. During the workshop, Amareesa shared her story of discovering an interest in journaling and the latest form of journaling that she uses to “track” her life – bullet journaling.  Amareesa then worked with the girls at Cassata to begin creating trackers for their own lives within their journals.
