Teacher Date Nights Make Happier Teachers

The other day I was explaining to a colleague why exactly our newest program offering for teachers is so important. See if you follow.

My wedding was small and modest, but now I look back and smile over all the money inadvertently saved. If we had more, I would have spent more, but nineteen years later I realize the reason our marriage works is because of all the Saturday night date nights Richard and I have had since that November evening. In other words, smaller sums of money spent on simple experiences and spread out over time has done far more for my marriage than one big event could ever have done.

Date nights, I explained to her, are when we reconnect.

They are when we get out from under the daily grind,

talk about things that matter,

dream about the future,

and reboot, so we face the next week with energy and enthusiasm.

Learn to Shine, our new workshop series for educators, is the same. It’s the monthly date night educators need to

reconnect with other teachers committed to maintaining a healthy relationship with their workplace and students.

These short and simple one and half our sessions are when teachers can get out from under the daily grind,

talk about things that matter,

dream about the future,

and reboot, so they are ready to face the next month with energy and enthusiasm.

If you are an educator or know one you like so much you would marry him or her then tell them about Learn to Shine. The first one is Wednesday, September 20, 4:30-6:00 and there is one every month following, through May.

And unlike date night, this first one is FREE!
