Long Time Coming
Part of the fun of discovering your shine is realizing all the many ways you can share it with the world.
Shine, as defined by the House of Shine, is the point of intersection between your talents, interests, and a need in the world (big or small) you would like to help fill.
I want to live in a world where people are engaged and willing to share their unique combination of talents and gifts with the people around them, so for years I wrote a daily blog post seeking to expose people to their shine (strengths, hobbies, interests, needs, and life experiences) and inspiring them to share it with others.
I chose blog posts, because the blank computer screen served as the perfect platform for my talent of generating ideas and my interests in both writing and teaching.
For the past nine months, though, the number of blog posts has dwindled but the ways in which the message of shine is being shared has actually grown.
Now we have after school programs
and in-class curriculum
and, as of yesterday, a series of workshops for women called Rise and Shine.
It was a long time in the making, but it feels great to finally have this new chapter of my journey underway. If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area I hope you will consider attending one.
How about you? What's your shine and how are you sharing it with your corner of the world
