Hmmmm...this is a hard one for me since I feel like I'm pulled in so many different directions at the same time. I feel semi-organized, but cannot commit to "one step at a time" to become totally organized. I would have to say my kaisen is to make a little more time for myself...one step at a time. The boys are getting older now and it's time to take a little more time for myself. It's very difficult with Eric's schedule, but like you said...one step at a time! |

Since I am doing the Year of the Schedule, I could do one thing at the same time each day. It should probably be going to bed at a reasonable time! |

My kaisan would be sketching or doing the exercises that I learned at my workshop. My current issue is that I don't want to ruin my house while painting and painting is a messy business. Too cold to hop out to the garage or yard so... my kaisan is to continue doing my sketches until I'm wrap my head around making a mess or being able to hop outside. |

Kate... How about making a list of 10 things you like to do that can be done in five minutes or less (flip through a magazine, watch part of a t.v. show, file your nails, read a cook book, call a friend, write a note). Then you strategy can be to do at least one five minute thing per day that you really enjoy. |

My strategy has been to use smaller pockets of time to make phone calls. Whereas before, I would have just listened to my ipod on my walk to class or in between meetings, now I use that 10 minutes for a phone call. It's a smaller step toward doing it more frequently or for longer periods of time. I have also found the positive reinforcement of feeling more connected to people- it's a nice trade off! |

Today I will use my 'balance' to even out... a type of reward system... I walked the dogs, shoveled the end of the driveway, walked for 35 minutes on the treadmill.... then I get.. an Iced Caramel Latte (homemade... I just got a cold brew Toddy coffee system LOVE it!!) pretzel crisps with light laughing cow herb & garlic cheese... as my mid morning snack.... that is my breakfast... and then I get a nice little Pommie loving my lap... what rewards!
I'm not trying to lose weight, just trying to enjoy food to maintain health, love trying new things and widening my flavor palette. |

Hi, I'm new here. For me, I hope for 2010 to be the last Pre-Children year. So I guess that would be the Year before Baby. I should probably tell my husband. ;-) To prepare for 2011, I aim to be healthier, keep up with house chores, train our dogs, and do extra work to build up a good Savings account.. Things seemed so chaotic in 2009, I'm hoping 2010 will show my husband and I that we can handle a baby in our lives. I know those are kind of vague goals. So here are my Kaisen steps: • Take my vitamins daily • Do daily and weekend chores • Train dogs weekly at Petsmart • Stay on healthy diet • Go to Yoga class 2x a week. • Go on a Vacation |

Leesha721... thanks for checking in and being the first brave new reader to jump in on our fun. You will have lots of opportunities to continue talking about AND TAKING ACTION ON what you would like to have happen in 2010. Is it safe to say that making this the last Pre-Children year is the same as making this the Year of the Child?!?! The latter is far more fun to say! Don't ya think? Or maybe it's the Year of Fancy Free. Anyway, M.J. Ryan would say you are being very ambitious in 2010. You have lots of things you want to do and though most of them are focused on making this the last of the Pre-Children year or... The Year of the Child...or the Year of Fancy Free, there are many things for you to keep up with. So to keep you motivated, Ryan would encourage you to periodically ask yourself if the choices you are making about your use of time, money, energy, etc... is in keeping with what you named your year. We will all be anxious to see how your year unfolds. Thanks again for joining us. |
