Greetings House of Shine readers. Cheryl here. If you are already a member of our community and are trying to complete the 29 Gifts in 29 Days Challenge you will have read about one of my gifts to the woman who keeps the drop off line to the boys school moving in the morning. She stands out there in the cold and the rain and the heat and the wind. She puts up with rookie parents getting out of their car to help their kids out. She puts up with those of us that are running late and in a rush pushing other peoples needs and even sometimes safety to the side. Something about her standing out there day in and day out made me think she needed a gift because I DO appreciate what she does. Our safety- our kids safety -is her main concern every morning.
The boys dropped the gift off in the office and anonymity went out the door. But that was okay because even though the gift was small, her thank you note let me know that I picked the right person and it was the perfect gift.
So here's what I did... I purchased the pre-made cookie dough from the dough boy.

I put sprinkles in a bowl.

I dipped each cookie dough ball into the sprinkles.

Turn and dip until five sides are covered.

You'll have a cookie pan that looks like this. Cook them as directed on the package.

And you will have this. Red for stop. Yellow for drop. Green for go. Blue for thank you.

Build a cute banner. I attached one side of the circles with black string and then glued the same color to the other side.

I wrapped the colors in cellophane by color attaching circles that match the banner.

The banner hangs like this. Hopefully it's something she can hang in her space to remind her that we care.

I picked a yellow bag because she SHINES and glued on more circles that said please deliver to Cheryl Swart.

I put the cookies in the bag, draped the banner around the top and voila!

A quick and easy, thoughtful gift for someone that matters.
The 29 Gift Challenge has proved to be harder than I first expected. I have started over and today is Day 3- Take 2. Have you given a gift to someone that didn't expect it and you made their day? I would love to hear about it. Including today, I have 27 more days to go. I need all the help I can get.
Shining off until tomorrow...
