Psst... It's That Time

Not even vacationing in Key Largo will keep me from celebrating our time-honored tradition of High Low and Aha.

A quick refresher on how to participate for any newcomers popping in for the first time.

Reflecting over your past month, visit us in the comment section and tell us the following:

Highs: What are the best things that have happened to you in the past month?

Lows: What are the worst things that have happened to you in the past month?

Ahas: What have you learned in the past month?

Meet me in the Comment Section where I will post mine.

Shining off until tomorrow when we kick off a fun week.

I'll use this as my break time today! :-)

High: Turning in my paper last night and heading to Boston to facilitate a training and then for a conference, but also getting to see a good friend and her baby!

Low: Just some family strife and sadness as we think about this time a year ago and the loss of my niece.

Aha: There are so many hours I won't get back AND I waste a lot of time that I could be spending with my family. I need resources to maximize this time.

This was something peaceful to watch and think about: http://youtu.be/rRwfwyaHXDk

High: Sissy turning 16, Parent Orientation at U of I, safe travels to Italy and back for DH

Low: Sitting in a session for parents :Letting Go. (waves of sadness as my family dynamics changes) nasty head cold I've had for a month

Aha: I love Pinterest.... Nobody really cares if you're miserable - so you might as well be happy!

Highs: A lot of fun, fun times with friends. I met a really great guy and I've had a wonderfully fun month getting to know him. Hi Chris! My boys are back from their grandparent vacation.

Lows: I already wrote about this last week but my friends grandaughter lost her big battle for her little life. And then, my friends aunt and uncle were in a really sad car accident and they both lost their lives. My heart breaks for all. My boys were gone for a month! Painting has been slower than I would like. I have only received ONE Heart for the Send Me Some Love Contest!!! Thank you Chaotic!!

Aha: I finally recognized the Universe testing me and gave myself a swift kick in the backside to straighten up. :)

Hi everyone! I am coming to you late in the day today because we spent the afternoon on our boat. That is a nice transition to my highs.

Highs: Spending the day on the water with my family. Calm waters, beautiful scenery, and lots of time to think. Other highs for the month include spending time with family friends; Richard winning new business for his company; and bringing closure to some home renovations.

Lows: A sick uncle; one step forward and two steps back with work related projects; and not fitting in enough time to exercise

Ahas: LOTS of personal growth this month and my aha is connected to HOW the growth occurred. I finally shut up and did more listening than I did convincing myself that others "didn't fully understand" or "just didn't see the vision".

Alright...better late than never. Typing on my phone so excuse the brevity.

High: definitely showing up on my Mom's doorstep on Saturday evening after driving 17 hours to surprise her...I'll never forget the look on her face!

    Low: work woes

Aha: I was rationalizing why I should and shouldn't drive up to visit and I was talking about everyone else...my admin looked at me and said, well what about Heather...what does SHE want. Then and there I decided to make it happen.

HIGH - Spending a few days in New Orleans for the annual ACUHO-I conference... Awesome networking, great workshops. It was professionally rejuvenating. Plus, I got to meet Tera! Oh, and not to mention, I also took my week vacation this past month. It was great to spend time with my 22-month old niece.

LOW - Work has been pretty draining. No down time for this guy.

AHA - Sometimes even when everyone else gives you their advice, you just have to go with your gut feeling and take your own advice.

High: Fun trip to South Padre Island with a friend, her kids and the girls. Nice get away with my husband to Lake Tahoe for business / pleasure. That is a BEAUTIFUL place. If you have never been, put it on your list of places to visit :). Great Dr. visit. and found out ITS A GIRL. She is very active and healthy! Nice 4th of July weekend. Azlynn's 7th birthday celebration. Carpets cleaned and bunk beds for the girls ordered and waiting on delivery.

Low: Very sad news from a dear friend of mine. Just about as low as you can get.

Aha: When you think your troubles are big...someone ALWAYS larger ones!

low: finances are rotten...I know money is not what makes the world go round but when you can't make your car payment, something has to give (see high)

aha: I am worthy of an education and I am need more of it to improve my financial situation, even tho funding it will make it WORSE for the next few years... sigh....

Kristi... I am so proud of you. Making the long term decision to go back to college, despite the financial stress that it is causing is commendable.

You are doing the right thing.

Keep your eye on the prize.
