T-minus three days and counting until our Second Annual National Postman Appreciation Day.
This will be the last year that our locally grown event is hosted by a small, intimate gathering of readers at the House of Shine - the inner circle, as I like to call it.
Next year at this time, we will be showcasing our official web page on www.brownielocks.com and inviting the world to get in on our fun. To share our full vision for this emerging annual holiday, click here and read our post from last week.
Participating next year will be fun. Participating this year is down right cutting edge.
But no cutting of edges is required. No cutting, glueing, taping, or decoupaging. Rules do not apply as to how mailboxes are decorated. It's only important that you honor your postman or woman by doing something. Keep it simple or go all out. That is up to you.
Heather, Misty, Cheryl, and I don't want to spill all of our beans, so each of us has agreed to share a small sneak peek at what we are cooking up for this weekend.

But, the better question is what are YOU cooking up? And don't worry that it's too late to get in on this year's fun. There is no perfect recipe for success and your half-baked idea will look just as good to the post man as Cheryl's idea - which we all know has been slowwwwwwwwwww cooking.
Get your wheels turning. Visit us in the comment section and do any one of a few things: guess whose mailbox is whose; try your hand at guessing which Sneak Peek photograph belongs to whom; for the really advanced, use our photos to try guessing our respective themes; or, scrap all of that and tell us about the plans you are making to surprise your postman this Saturday.
Or, do not pass go, do not collect $200.00 and head directly to facebook, twitter, texting, or your good old fashioned iphone and help us spread the word. Rumor has it Peggy, loyal reader and owner of PRDesigns, will give away a gift pack of handmade greeting cards to one of our lucky participants. All you have to do is send a photo of your finished mailbox to shine@houseofshine.com, sometime before Monday at 5:00 p.m.
Shining off until tomorrow, when it is T minus 2 days until our big event.
