It seems, according to an article in this month's edition of Better Homes and Gardens, that today - January 5 - is the most stressful day of the year. The holidays ending, work resuming, and gloomy weather apparently leave many people feeling tense.
The subjects of that study need an overnight stay in the House of Shine. At the House of Shine we understand that when one holiday ends it's time to begin anticipating the next (Sweet Cereal Day, January 13) and that returning to work is not actually something to dread. When you shine at your work, returning to the office to do more of what you love is actually something to get excited about.
I might add, stressing is much harder to do when you are hopeful about, and focused on, accomplishments for the coming year.
Which brings me to the gentle prod of today's post.
It's hump day. In two short days new and veteran readers alike will gather in community to unveil the single word each of us has selected to represent the accomplishment we are most anxious to have in 2011.
If you are just tuning in and want to join the fun, take a minute to review the posts from Monday and Tuesday.
If you're all caught up then consider today extra stress-free, at least until tomorrow when we talk some more about Naming Our Year. You might even hop on over to our Community Forum labeled, Today's Post and share your favorite suggestion for combatting stress... today and beyond.
Shining off until tomorrow...
