Happy Friday! Cheryl here.
Today I would like to share with you the world of Etsy. Do you shop at Etsy? I love it! There are so many shops to browse. So many great things to buy. From art, to ceramics, to jewelry, to paper goods! You name it! One of the reasons I love Etsy so much is that the products there are not manufactured. They're mostly hand made. And another reason I love Etsy, is because the prices are very reasonable. And there's so much to choose from! Stop the madness!
Get your elf ears on and bring out the jingle bells because you could get all your gift giving shopping done right here!
Here are some of the shops that I think Shine. I haven't bought from all of the shops. I'm not Momma Warbucks, you know. But, these are sample of the shops that I follow:

Owl Creek Ceramics has some amazing ceramic plates, canisters, and just all kinds of ceramic goodies. They started in 2000 and are based out of Gainesville, Texas. Dyna and John Bailey use bright colors that just scream happiness and fun.
I found Paperbella after I saw a paper mobile on a decorating blog. I just came into etsy and search paper mobiles and found Paperbella. I want one. I can just imagine a long, colorful mobile adding color and gentle movement to a corner of my living room. One day, Paperbella. One day.

What. No Mints? is a fun little shop that features lots of goodies made of felt. You know how I love felt. I especially like how Sasha has taken her love of chemistry and science and incorporated into her crafts. Every science nerdette should own a Paramecium Felt Brooch. She has other cuties like heart and bird ornaments in her shop as well.
What girl doesn't need a fun new piece of jewelry to add to her arsenal of goodies? Etsy features a ton of wonderful jewelry artists. It was hard to choose just one. I finally settled in with Balance 9. I tend to favor a more delicate piece but Balance 9 has... well- a nice balance and blend to their pieces. The silver blooming cherry earrings are gorgeous.

Rachel Austin's art is simple and wonderful. Her artwork combines mixed medias of maps, a wax-like medium and colorful paints to create her works. I love how she names the pieces from words from the maps. You can also purchase cards and prints. Definitely unique.
Whenever I see signs that say "All you need is love" I automatically fall in love with them but the TuckerReece (the maiden name of Jenna's grandmothers) Etsy store also caught my eye because she features a print that says, "This little light of mine, I'm going to let it Shine." Uh- hello? No brainer for our world. Jenna's pieces are great.

Joe Bagley is a full-time papercutting artist and his work is AMAZING! At Paper Cuts by Joe, I especially love his bicycle pieces. They're nostalgic and sweet. And I'm pretty sure that I don't only need some of Joe's work, I need to purchase a bicycle and start riding again. Do you remember the freedom and since of adventure you felt as a kid riding your bike? Joe has many other themes as well. You just need to go see for yourself.
Oh Dier was the inspiration behind Claudia's birthday gift this year. I was too late to custom order a piece sign that said "Shine" from Oh Dier so I had my friend Keith help me and we (meaning he) cut the word Shine out of piece of wood. Never again! Though I was pleased with the way it turned out, it is a lot of work. The cutting, the sanding, the painting, the re-sanding, the re-painting. The shop features the words: Holla, bonjour, eat, think, grow, and a favorite of mine- nerd. Every nerd needs one! Oh Dier's shop also features some great photography and prints- one of my favorites is called "Bike Love". Go check it out.

Navy Blue Notes cracks me up. I laughed for days after seeing their cards. Their cards feature sayings like "Holy Crap. I had a great time." and "Get Better. Faker." Great cards. Great fun.
Photobooths and chalkboards are a current craze and fun way to document the guests at your party. I first saw Playing Grown Up featured on another blog and when I saw that Mustache Chalkboard I knew I had to get one for Keith's apartment. He put me in charge of decorating so I thought a bit of humor was called for. Brooke has a lot of fun quote bubbles and other pieces to choose from so take a peak.

I was looking for another cupcake piece to compliment a cupcake piece I already own when I came across Amelia Kay Photography. She had just what I was looking for- now if I can just get it framed. I didn't stop at the cupcake photo though. I fell in LOVE with the scrabble pieces spelling out LOVE so I got that one, too. It's going to look great in my room when I get it framed, too. Amelia's photography is sweet and lovely. Here themes run from food, to nature, to abstract, to travel. You sure to find something you love.
And lastly and my most favorite shop on Etsy. Seriously. I LOVE. Tracy Melton is a wonderful artist that uses trees and turns them into these wonderful pieces of art. I just don't have the words to describe how great I think they are. Focus Line Art features mostly sets of three pieces in wonderful combinations of colors. I've bought them as a gift and for myself. And, I want more. They're just so beautiful and unique. Tracy was also kind enough to humor me when I emailed him with my crazy questions on how the work should be hung on the wall. They can be hung or used on a shelf or table top. I see a huge collection in my future.
So, there you have it. Twelve shops that I think Shine. Do you Etsy? Want to jump over to the community forum section and share with us your favorite shops?
Shining off until tomorrow...
And, don't forget to tune in tomorrow to see who our next nominee is for the Yellow Envelope Project!
