Thank You For...

Who are you thankful for?

A few years ago a group of students gave me a book titled, Gratitude.  The left side of each page contains a simple statement of gratitude.  On the right hand side is an accompanying quote from someone famous.  Most meaningful, however, are the handwritten notes, laced throughout the book, on pages that students thought most applied to me.

I pulled the book from my shelf yesterday and got lost in the author's words:

Thank you for making a difference.

Thank you for your wisdom.

Thank you for being so thoughtful.

Thank your for being there.

Thank you for seeing the silver lining.

Thank you for caring.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Thank you for listening.

Thank you for your inspiration.

Thank you for your faith.

Thank you for your talent.

Thank you for your wonderful work.

Thank you for your leadership.

Thank you for your character.

Thank you for your spirit.

Thank you for your principles.

Thank you for showing the way.

Thank you for your warmth.

Thank you for your kindness.

Thank you for your encouragement.

Thank you for your honesty.

Thank you for your helping hand.

Thank you for reaching out.

Thank you for your touch.

Thank you for your support.

Thank you for hanging in there.

Thank you for staying in touch.

Thank you for giving.

Thank you for your example.

Thank you for spreading joy.

Thank you for your big heart.

Thank you for the memories.

Thank you for being you.

It has me wondering.  Do the cast of characters for whom I am most grateful know who they are and exactly why I am so grateful?

With Thanksgiving around the corner, it seems an appropriate time to give the gift of gratitude.  Before the week is over, I hope to identify five people for whom I am grateful and to let them know why.

"Dear so and so.  Thank you for..."

Maybe you will consider joining us in the Community Forum labeled, Today's Post and respond to our prompt:

Dear....  Thank you for....

Shining off until tomorrow...
