Shineworks: November

Monday, the first day of a brand new month.  What better way to spend it than by kicking off November's Shineworks Challenge?

Shineworks - if you are new to our community - is a little like doing a Random Act of Kindness.  Only with Shineworks, your act doesn't have to be random and the purpose it serves is twofold; to be kind and to help Power the Planet with Shine.

How do we do this?

I identify a common household item that is to be the focus of each month's Shineworks challenge.  Your task is to combine the item with your creativity and enthusiasm and to somehow make your corner of the world a better, brighter, place to live.

You decide who will be the beneficiary of your act of kindness.  Is it a friend, a colleague, a local nursing home, or young children who frequent your local park?  We suggest that it be someone(s) who could benefit from a little Shine.

You decide when to do it.  Will you jump right in and do it before today is over?  Or, will you spend the week plotting and complete it just before the deadline, Friday at 10:00 p.m.?  Will you do it in broad day light or will you wait until the wee hours of the night, secretly completing your Shineworks under the cover of darkness?

Last but not least, you decide whether or not you'll have an accomplice.  Will you involve your kids, your favorite lunch partners, or the person sitting in the cubicle beside you?  Side bar: I find the fun multiplies exponentially when you pull other people into your adventure.

The only things for sure are: (1) All Shineworks must be completed by Friday, November 5 at 10:00 p.m., and (2) this month's item is...

Questions?  Visit us in the Community Forum labeled, Today's Post and ask away.  Heather, Cheryl, or I will answer - along with Robin, Misty, and any of our other loyal participants.  Also, once you've completed your Shineworks, consider joining us in the Community Forum labeled, Shineworks and let us know how it went.  We love your stories.

Shining off until tomorrow...
