Fancy Flours is the kind of company that makes it easy to shine.
Believe me when I tell you that Fancy Flours is to bakers what Disney World is to first graders. They have hundreds and hundreds of cookie cutters in stock, along with a selection of other baking supplies that a novice like I would have no idea how to use. It's true, no one needs baked goods in the same way that no one needs to visit the Magic Kingdom. But life is a little sweeter because of these simple pleasures.
The House of Shine has partnered with Fancy Flours over the past year. I select an occasion worth celebrating, House of Shine readers select a cookie cutter I must use to celebrate the occasion, and Fancy Flours provides us two of the winning cutters. My task is to marry the cookie cutter with the occasion and then to decorate and package them appropriately.
We've celebrated everything from Earth Day to National Backyard Games Day, Be a Good Neighbor Day, Festivus, Halloween, and my husband's birthday. And to celebrate we've used cookie cutters ranging from Mermaids to fish, roosters, hammers, guitars, porcupines, ears of corn, and even a 3-D airplane.
This month the winning cookie cutter was a butterfly and the occasion is Heather's housewarming party. Why send a one dimensional Housewarming invitation, when Fancy Flours makes it so easy to send an invitation that shines?
So here it is...
Flutter Over to Bal and Heather's HousSWARMING Party!

Imagine what a hit her butterfly invitations will be when they arrive in bright colored butterfly nets found at the Dollar Store for...well, a dollar.

And since yesterday we talked about cultivating the imagination of our children, how about leaving some of the butterflies sparsely decorated and letting kids decorate them while the grown ups "ooh" and "aah" over their perfectly organized closets.

Love the butterfly and want to use it this Mother's Day to tell your mom she's the Wind Beneath Your Wings (hokey, I know)? Visit the Community Forum labeled, Today's Post and suggest another occasion for which the butterfly cookie cutter could be used. The person submitting the best occasion and tag line wins the cutter.
Shining off until tomorrow...
