Daily Morsel

Surround yourself with items that inspire your inner shine.

I have an oversized bowl stuffed with books that I can flip through when I need a little inspiration.  Like this morning.

Compliments of my dear friend Amy, today's post is inspired by a book she gave me titled, "Living Juicy: Daily Morsels for Your Creative Soul."  If you have never heard of SARK, and you aspire to be at all creative, then you should check out her work.

July 8.

"Let the paint leap out of its container, onto your brush... Paint yourself out of all your corners.  Paint your face, or you tennis shoes, or anything else that needs new life.  Buy paint that sings to you the color, or the name, or what you imagine you'll do with it."

I would paint the door to my home office.  I would paint it two tones of yellow and I would include a bright colored placard that reads, "Welcome to the House of Shine."  Ray Wattson would peek around the backside of my office door yelling, "Shine Dammit."

What  would  you  paint  and  what  color  would  it  be?

Also squeezed onto the bottom of today's page, SARK scribbled a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt: "You must do the thing you think you cannot do."

If I was to commit to doing the thing I think I cannot do, I would...

  • Complete a triathlon.
  • Write a book.
  • Knit something.
  • Go a month without complaining a single time.
  • Give up Starbucks coffee.
