Red, White, and Blue

Last night I realized that the House of Shine is the perfect outgrowth of the friendship that Heather, Cheryl, and I share.

At one time the three of us might have gotten together exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling blog business.  But, if our joint venture started out that way, it certainly is no longer the case.

Our July fourth celebration was a nice reminder.  We sat on the lawn at Trophy Club and reminisced about one year ago.  We watched our kids play together with the comfort and ease of kids who have grown up knowing one another.  We caught up on the details of Cheryl's latest art project (and boyfriend); Heather's excitement about Charlotte's arrival in August; and all of my latest antics.

The evening was more than easy.  It was fun and relaxed and comfortable and... comforting.  The evening was comforting, because while our kids range in age from three to seventeen, I fully expect to know these women when our children are eighteen and thirty-three and when our grandkids range in age from three to seventeen.

The House of Shine really is the product of three women - each with a unique set of talents and gifts - coming together weekly, first so that we can see one another and second so that we can create something bigger than any one of us.

The House of Shine shines because it is a tribute to the power of friendship.

Join our celebration of friendship by visiting us in the Community Forum labeled, Today's Post, and telling us all the ways in which you and your friends are better together than you are individually.

Shining off until tomorrow...
