It's official. High, low, aha has finally reached ritual status. I love it!
Friday was the 18th day of June and, according to the House of Shine, the 18th day of any month is our designated day to reflect and to celebrate community. We reflect by taking a few minutes to share our "high" for the month (best thing that happened), "low" for the month (worst thing that happened), and "aha" for the month (something we learned).
We celebrate community by agreeing to share those "highs", "lows", and "ahas" with other House of Shine readers in the Community Forum labeled, Today's Post.
In the end you feel better for taking time to reflect on the past thirty days and we all feel better knowing that we are a part of a growing community of people who shine.
"High, low, aha" has finally reached ritual status because THREE readers contacted our website on Friday to tell us that we allowed Cheryl's post about Summer Snow to usurp the spot of "high, low, aha." That will definitely be one of my highs for the month. When readers are as invested enough in our community to know when we have missed the boat AND care enough to say something... that is when we know good things are happening.
With no further ado, I will get us going:
High: My high for the month came last night (which, I guess, is why it is good I waited until Monday for our ritual) when a friend I have fallen out of touch with called me. Hearing her voice was like rediscovering a long, lost item that you cherished but lost.
Low: My low for the month was getting a ticket for driving without a seatbelt (in the Target parking lot) the same week I ran over something in the road and did $900.00 worth of damage to my car. Oh, I guess I was also pretty disappointed to learn I wouldn't be moving into Harpo Studios.
Aha: My aha for the month is related to my work versus my life's purpose. I find myself more and more aware of the disconnect between how I am currently spending my days and how I know I ought to be spending my days. It is getting harder and harder to continue making excuses. Dissonance is no fun.
How about you? Take a second to visit the Community Forum labeled, Today's Post and tell us about your High, low, and aha from last month.
Shining off until tomorrow...
